What is the Audi Advanced Key?
Audi puts a premium on comfort and ease of use. This is why all new models that we have in our showroom come with keyless entry and start. This technology lets you start your car and begin driving while keeping the key fob in your pocket or purse.
This system works through proximity sensors located in the doors and trunks which are connected to an electronic key radio inside the key fob. Here are some of the things you should know about Audi Advanced Key:
1. Proximity Detection
An Audi with proximity detection allows you to enter and start your car without ever having to take the key from your purse or pocket. The access and authorization system works by automating data exchange between your convenience key and your vehicle which allows you to open the doors and trunk and even activate the engine with just a touch of a sensor button on your key.
A sound-based proximity sensor, also known as a capacitive proximity sensor, makes use of acoustic waves to detect the presence of nearby objects. The sensors use an oscillator to generate an electrical signal, which is transmitted through the air and received by an audio microphone, which transforms it into an audio file. The audio files are then evaluated to determine their similarity and proximity. If they are close enough, the system will transmit a wake-up signal to the key and send an ID signal that is in line with the vehicle.
The first step toward an easier and more comfortable driving experience is proximity detection. The Audi advanced key comes with remote start, which allows you the ability to start your car from outside the range of your key's FOB. This can be helpful when you are taking groceries out of the trunk, securing children in their seats, or packing for an family trip.
Audi pre sense basic is a safety feature that allows you to avoid accidents by taking action prior to a collision occurs. It integrates the data from different systems, including the front camera and radar sensors from Audi side assist, to calculate the likelihood of a collision, and also warn drivers. It can also trigger automatic braking up to 250 km/h (155.3) and inform the driver with an alert message displayed in the virtual cockpit and head-up display.

2. Authentication
When you press the key fob's lock button, the Audi advanced key system communicates with your car's sensors. The system sends a code to the car's computer that confirms that it is an authorized key fob. This safeguards against unauthorized entry to the vehicle without the proper key fob.
It also lets drivers start their vehicles using the key fob in the pocket or purse. Audi's advanced key system uses proximity sensor in the trunk lid as well as the doors and key fob. If the key fob is within roughly five feet of the vehicle, the sensors will detect your presence and unlock the doors. When you open the trunk or use the door handle, the vehicle recognizes the key and starts the motor.
You can also use the key fob to trigger the push-button feature of your vehicle. You can start the engine by pressing the Start/Stop buttons built into the center console, if the key fob is in your pocket or purse. The car's sensors verify the authenticity of the key fob and once it's confirmed, the engine will start.
The Audi advanced key system has a keyless entry feature that allows you to unlock your car's doors by simply pressing the handle on the outside of the door. This makes it incredibly practical when your hands are stuffed or when you're wearing gloves, such as when you're carrying your groceries or kids into the vehicle. The system includes a trunk-release button that allows you to open the trunk with the kick motion. This is an excellent feature for when you're carrying a lot of groceries or children into the vehicle.

This helps discourage unauthorized use of your vehicle by making sure that only you are able to open the doors.
Another feature that is typically included in keyless entry systems is the ability to remote start your car without a key. This is achieved by through sensors in the trunk, the tailgate, and sometimes even in the vehicle's doors. These sensors will turn on the engine of the vehicle and then unlock the doors when the fob is within a certain distance of the car, usually around 5 feet. Then, you can press the button to start your vehicle. This is a great method to keep your car warm and cozy before you leave for work in the morning, or when it's cold outside.
Some of the most advanced keyless entry systems don't even require a fob. The cars can be unlocked and started with a smartphone app. This is an excellent option for business owners or families who wish to give their employees easy access to their company vehicles. Some keyless entry systems can even remember the driver's preferred seat position and cabin temperature. This can save you a lot of time when you get to a parking spot.
One of the more sophisticated keyless entry systems has a rear hatch function which can be activated by a simple foot wave. It will shut and secure the cargo area automatically. This technology is available in a variety of Audi vehicles, and, based on the model, it might be included as a standard feature or as a paid upgrade. Be aware that these systems aren't foolproof and can be circumvented by savvy thieves with some skills or knowledge.
